ast night I attended Disney on Ice - Princess Classics in San Jose with a carload of five bubbly 1st grade girls and two moms. I have never been to one of these shows with my kids, I always thought it was a redux of the movie or books, so figured no need to waste our time or money. Boy, was I wrong. Like everything I have seen by Disney, it was a professionally done show that captured the imagination. From pyrotechnics, moving castles/sets to fancy costumes and music, the production was well worth the ticket price for Disney lovers.
The girls were completely enamored by the princesses, of course. They cheered loudly when their favorite princess showed up. Whether it was Jasmine, Aurora or Mulan - there was something that appealed to each of the five girls in our posse.
Personally, I was impressed with the music and the fact that most of the crowd sang along to the songs. I can barely ice skate, so it was impressive to watch these athletes with their intricate maneuvers, and do it all in a fancy costume! Each princess had a few numbers consistent with their respective "story lines." The longest number featured Cinderella's story and wedding to Prince Charming - where all the princesses were in attendance.
The show is great for princess fans of all ages. There were younger children in the
audiences from newborn to teens, but I think that the preschool set to 2nd graders would get the most out of the production. It was ideal for my first grade guests. They knew all the songs and could identify the princesses.
