This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Tassimo.
So my husband and I have gone on in our 12 year marriage happily with coffee making squarely in his domain (along with cleaning the gutters) until the Tassimo arrived at our door compliments of BlogHer and Bosch.
This little beauty does it all. Makes coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate and tea in a fool proof way. You basically insert a T-disk into the machine and the Tassimo reads the bar code, which tells it what temperature and how much water to put in to make the perfect cappuccinos. Lemme tell you as someone who loves her morning cap - this little machine does a great job.
What do I love about the Tassimo:
- Makes a great variety of hot beverages - lattes, cappuccinos, regular cups of coffee, tea and hot chocolate!
- Anyone can make coffee, caps or whatever you want whenever you want it. Takes thinking outta making coffee which is good because I tend to be useless without caffeine. It was so easy to use, my kids could make the hot chocolate by themselves.
- Easy clean up: We had an espresso machine at our house, but I hated having to clean all the parts with every use. The Tassimo eliminates the need for that pesky frothing attachment.
- Filtered water feature
- Flavor is good - the hot chocolate was excellent and so is the regular cup of coffee.
- Fits all sizes of cups from travel mugs to tea cups. Perfect for when I need to take my latte on the road.
- Party worthy! I had 20 guests at a party this past weekend and the Tassimo churned out drinks like a champ. It was nice to offer an array of hot drinks without any waste - coffee, latte, tea or cap everyone could have their choice,
- Compact size fit nicely on already full counter.
Buying separate coffee disks are not a cheap prospect when comparing it to buying a pound of coffee. However since I have been testing this system for the past two weeks, I have cut the number of trips to Starbucks by more than half. So while I often stop by Starbucks on my way out to work, I have been able to make a latte and take it with me - saving me both time and money! Packets range from $10.49 for 16 cups of Starbuck's breakfast blend ($.65 a cup), English Breakfast Tea at $8.99 for 16 cups ($.56 a cup) to $6.99 for 8 cups of hot chocolate ( $.87 a cup). Since I've had no problem spending my retirement money on lattes, this is a welcome alternative for getting my fancy coffee fix at home.
It would be awesome if the Tassimo came with a refillable container that I could put my own grounds in to save a few bucks. But it is hard to beat the system's ease. While you can't buy disks at your local grocery store yet, you can order them from Tassimo.com. You can buy the Tassimo system for $169.99

This would be so great for our house. My husband needs coffee every morning to get going, but I only do decaf right now because I am nursing. We can both enjoy a hot cup of Joe together, finally!

Ohmy- this would be amazing at our house! We often throw away almost an entire pot of coffee because no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to make just enough and not more than that.
Hmm..hot drinks at our next party? Definitely hot chocolate with marshmallows and a peppermint stick...or hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick. I've been trying very hard not to want to order a fantastic flavored coffee drink but since being pregnant, I should keep the caffeine at bay :)

This would be so perfect for my little Teacher Planning Center area. I love to have my second cup of coffee after I get to school.
As for our next party, I will serve coffee with my cheesecake for dessert.
Happy Holidays ~Natalie

I cannot get through my day without my morning caffeine fix! Usually I add vanilla syrup and half & half for my morning cup before work but sometimes I just need that second cup and have to stop at the neighborhood Starbucks mid-day for a vanilla latte or chai.

The key word is "single". Being single in a double occupancy world is not easy. There are so few kitchen implements that are geared towards singles. From coffee makers to ingredients, everything is doubled and tripled. Tassimo is the exception. It makes that single cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/milk. As a single person that is all that I need, one cup, one time. My favorite ingredient is the Tassimo milk disc. I use that for everything; tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. The only problem is that you can not buy the milk at a retail store. I wish they would allow milk to be sold in stores. I would love to have a Tassimo machine.

This Bosch machine is the only machine my husband will consider for making cappuccino (other than the LOUD, CLUNKY, very DISAGREEABLE barista machine that never works for me and is currently taking up prime counter space.) I would love to serve delicious cappuccino at the family New Year gathering - cappuccino that tastes good (not like mine that comes out of the disagreeable barista machine.) My husband has a nifty spiked cappuccino recipe that can lighten up even the most unpleasant relative - one part cappuccino, two parts white russian = *Liquid politeness*
I love a good cup of cocoa, but the moments that I have time to take out a pan, sift cocoa powder and sugar and gently warm milk are rare. This would be a grand and golden prize!

Spiced cider and hot chocolate sound good to me!

This would be awesome for my house. I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and I always end up running out and buying it rather than making it at home.
Posted by: Jen | 12/10/2009 at 05:17 PM
I'd have to go with some hot tea! :)

I plan on offering Starbucks coffee, chai lattes, and hot cocoa.
